# iPhone Duo Official Resources & Source Index

> Start with Apple’s design session and resource directory for design work, and its Duo hub and current requirements for native development. Use the dated release and TestFlight entries for version decisions. Selected written forum answers supplement the videos; they are not a review of every Group Lab.

## Tool and resource updates · October 4, 2026

Evidence type: Official information

Use the original event dates rather than treating every source as newly released. At the October 4 review, Apple’s Duo hub still links to 27.1 beta; the release index and TestFlight notes also list the later 27.2 beta 2 branch.

| Date | Update | Use it for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| September 9, 2026 | iPhone Duo announced; pre-orders October 16 and availability October 23 | Launch planning |
| September 16, 2026 | iOS 27.1 confirmed as the Duo launch OS | Platform baseline |
| September 18, 2026 | Xcode 27.1 beta and design-kit announcement | Development and design setup |
| September 18, 2026 | TestFlight accepts Xcode 27.1 beta builds | Beta distribution |
| September 28, 2026 | Xcode 27.2 beta 2 · 27B5028f | Compare the release with the Duo hub; a greater version is not a compatibility verdict |
| September 28, 2026 | TestFlight accepts Xcode 27.2 beta 2 and corresponding SDK builds | Beta distribution, separate from public App Store release |

## Start at Apple’s topic hub

Evidence type: Official information

Apple’s overview brings design and development videos together with tools and documentation. Treat it as the upstream starting point for your own source list; the sequence here is Plurigent’s reading suggestion.

## Design templates and device specifications

Evidence type: Practical guidance

Get the iOS and iPadOS Figma or Sketch kit from Apple Design Resources. Use Apple’s technical specifications for physical panel pixels and pixel density; use the Safe Area guide for separately labeled layout references.

Use a UI kit for interface components, a product bezel for a presentation frame, and an interactive prototype for a flow review. Apple’s directory now lists iPhone Duo Photoshop/PNG bezels, but a directory link does not verify a downloaded file, reuse terms or Simulator compatibility.

## Completed developer Q&As and selected written answers

Evidence type: Official information

The September 23, 2026 forum sessions are now historical events, not upcoming appointments. Use Apple’s topic hub to reach the published questions and answers.

Start with the linked Staff summary and the separate iPhone/iPad-target answer, then follow the precise topic you need. This selection does not claim to summarize all questions or either full Group Lab recording.

| Archive topic | Reading focus |
| --- | --- |
| Apple Staff Group Lab summary | Selected layout, custom-container and web-experiment questions; check each answer’s scope |
| iPhone Duo and iPad target support | Distinguish the .phone device idiom, available window space and an optional iPad target |
| Photos & Camera, SwiftUI and UIKit Q&A archives | Return through Apple’s hub for the original question and its contextual answer |

## For design: principles before local adjustments

Evidence type: Practical guidance

Begin with the design video’s principles and layout material, then the adaptive-layout discussion of reserved regions. Bring one of your own screens to the review instead of watching everything without a concrete question.

## For development: behavior before framework detail

Evidence type: Practical guidance

For development, start with the Xcode and Simulator pages to establish the current toolchain, then use the preparation, adaptive-layout, and multi-display material to understand runtime behavior. Verify new APIs against the target SDK and keep beta-specific limitations attached to the relevant version.

## Group Labs: two distinct primary sources

Evidence type: Verification limits

Sessions 285 and 286 remain distinct primary recordings. Their previously checked descriptions concern iPhone Duo adaptation; this update did not watch or transcribe either full session. Do not merge their unreviewed answers or invent chapter timestamps.

The written Apple Staff answers cited above are separately reviewed sources, not evidence that the complete recordings were checked. Open the original pages for the recordings; video availability does not itself establish redistribution rights.

## How to use the source register

Evidence type: Practical guidance

Every source has a review date and scope. Confirming a page exists, checking a transcript, and performing device tests are different evidence levels. When a source changes, review affected conclusions rather than merely changing the article date.

For a specific claim, read the corresponding original passage and record its version and context. These articles are independent interpretations, not official statements or Apple-endorsed material.
